How to Set Up Google Analytics for Square Bookings and Connect Google Ads (Step-by-Step)

Written by Iaroslav Iasinski · 14 min read · Updated July 25, 2026

The problem: Square Appointments won't let you install Google Analytics
Square's native booking pages are hosted by Square — you can't add a GA4 tag to them, so bookings never reach your analytics. That's why we built iBooker.online: a fast, secure booking widget that stores none of your customers' data and passes every booking straight through to Google Analytics and Google Ads in real time.
- 1Connect your Square Appointments account to iBooker.online — one click, official Square OAuth, revoke anytime.
- 2iBooker.online becomes your booking page (standalone, or embedded as a widget on your own site). Your services, staff and calendar stay exactly as they are in Square — nothing to rebuild.
- 3Every booking made through it can now be tracked. The steps below connect that to Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads.

Step 1 — Create your Google Analytics 4 property
Free, and only needed once per business. About 3 minutes.
Go to analytics.google.com. Open Admin (gear icon, bottom-left) → + Create → Account.
Step 2 — Configure Analytics for more accurate data collection
A few optional toggles that make GA4's data richer and more accurate. About 1 minute.
Open Admin (gear icon, bottom-left) → Property → Data collection and modification → Data collection.
Step 3 — Create your Measurement ID and connect it to iBooker.online
The step that actually turns your bookings into GA4 events. About 2 minutes.
Open Admin → Property → Data Streams → Add stream → Web. GA4 needs one stream to generate a Measurement ID.
Step 4 — Verify it's actually working
Don't just trust it — watch the events arrive live, with Google's own free debugging tools. About 2 minutes.
Go to tagassistant.google.com and click Add domain.
Step 5 — Embedding the widget on your own site? Install the tag there too
Only needed if you embed iBooker as a widget/iframe on your own website, rather than sending customers straight to your ibooker.online booking page.
Open Admin → Data Streams → click your stream.
Step 6 — Import your booking conversions into Google Ads
Make a few real test bookings, then tell Google Ads which GA4 event counts as a conversion. Do this once and every future booking optimizes your campaigns automatically.
Make a few test bookings, then wait ~24 hours. In GA4, open Reports → Events → Recent events and star only the event you want counted as a conversion (e.g. your booking/purchase event) — starring promotes it to a key event.
Step 7 — Turn on Enhanced Conversions for more accurate tracking
One more toggle in Google Ads so conversions are matched more accurately, using data your Google tag already has. Under a minute, and it's the last step.
Open Goals → Conversions → Settings and expand Customer data terms.
